Rice Paper Bacon

In no way shape or form that this rice paper bacon is going to be a direct comparison to real bacon. However that does not mean that people who like to eat more plant-based foods would not enjoy something as untraditional as rice paper bacon. This has all the savory flavor and crunch one is looking for when craving bacon. This is great in sandwiches or anywhere one would enjoy bacon. I love to chop it up and add it as a garnish to salads and soups !

Makes about 12 strips of bacon

*Pro-tip this marinade also works great for making coconut bacon or bacon out of mushrooms*

Ingredients

6 sheets rice paper

½ cup oil

3 Tbsp soy

2 Tbsp chopped garlic

1 tsp cracked black pepper

½ tsp smoked paprika

1 drops liquid smoke, optional

Instructions

Step 1

Cut your rice paper into strips and double layer each set of strips. Soak your rice paper in the marinade till its just pliable but not completely goo.

Step 2
